Ogilvy Malaysia has hired Eddy Nazarullah as creative director this first quarter of 2022. Nazarullah (pictured) will be reporting directly to Adrian Miller, chief creative officer of Ogilvy Malaysia, and is tasked to oversee the agency’s entire NESTLE business which includes MILO, Nestlé Omega Plus, Nestlé Health Science and Wyeth Nutrition. Nazarullah will work alongside creative directors Jaz Lee and Shariar Ghafar completing a trifecta of top-notch creative talent for the Malaysia office.

Nazarullah began his career at Leo Burnett Kuala Lumper in 2010 as a copywriter. He worked with brands such as Samsung, Proton, and Hotlink. Two years later, he joined MullenLowe Malaysia and was promoted to be a creative group head to lead the creative solutions team.

Adrian Miller, chief creative officer, Malaysia said: “This year Ogilvy Malaysia has a simple ambition, albeit a big one; to win with work by putting ideas at the centre of everything we do. As trite as this sounds, it’s a sentiment that all too often gets lost in our business. Nazarullah has a digital-first, nuanced way of thinking that coupled with local insights, will be pivotal in driving our vision to bring back the power of creative ideas and an audience-mindset to Malaysia.”

Nizwani Shahar chief executive, Malaysia said: “Miller is a transformative creative leader who is unparalleled in his effectiveness. He has returned home to Malaysia guns a blazing ready to set the industry on fire. Together with his creative leads, Miller will be pivotal in driving strong branded experiences for our clients. I look forward to having Nazarullah onboard to continue to fuel the very best in creative ideas with our senior team. This is aligned with our larger creative strategy to fortify creative firepower across Ogilvy Malaysia and Singapore.”

Meanwhile, on the leadership front, Ogilvy Consulting Asia has brought on board BBDO Asia's head of strategy, Andy Wilson in December last year, to launch its sustainability practice in Asia as senior partner, sustainability. The practice aimed to help clients shape sustainability priorities and solutions in the region, and Wilson will report to Jerry Smith, CEO of Ogilvy Consulting, Asia. Wilson has over 25 years’ experience in innovation, brand building, and strategic communications planning, and was BBDO Asia's head of strategy since 2012. He returns to Ogilvy where he also previously worked as regional planning director in Singapore and planning director in Tokyo, according to his LinkedIn.

Whereas in November last year, Ogilvy Singapore doubled down on its commitment to creativity with the addition of 21 new hires to its creative team. Ogilvy's bolstering of its creative offering comes on the back of the agency's rapid growth. Last year, the agency clinched over 25 accounts with brands across categories such as technology, retail, financial services and healthcare. Some of Ogilvy Singapore's new clients include Swisse, Merck, Skillsfuture, National Gallery, Decathlon, Converse, WEnergy and Govtech.
