Invictus Blue's chief digital officer, Abhishek Bhattacharjee, is joining Publicis Groupe Malaysia as managing partner, media. In his new role, Bhattacharjee (pictured) will report to Neil Hudspeth, CEO, Publicis Groupe Malaysia and global client lead, Asia Pacific.

Hudspeth told A+M that Bhattacharjee's focus will be two-fold. Firstly, developing and driving growth for the Groupe's media business, especially in digital and performance marketing where its Growth Loop approach to winning in a platform world is already delivering success to the Groupe's clients. Secondly, talent growth. Hudspeth said Bhattacharjee has a terrific track record of talent development, acquisition and retention, and developing the best talent in Malaysia within the agency's family network is crucial for culture and growth.

"I’m super happy to welcome Bhattacharjee to our family in Malaysia. He’s already a terrific cultural fit for us, and I look forward to our partnership and success together. I know he’s hungry, motivated and super talented, so we have all the ingredients to continue our journey as the Creative Agency of the Year, and look to deliver more outstanding data-led and media innovation successes for all our clients," Hudspeth added.

Bhattacharjee joined Invictus Blue in 2018 when it was still known as Zenith Media Malaysia. The agency rebranded later in 2018 when Zenith moved away from being a franchise solution under the Groupe's operation. Invictus Blue is now an independent brand with strategic partnerships globally and is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur.

MD David Soo told A+M that the partnership they had was great and during that time, the team had plenty of fun pursuing many new businesses as well as growing its existing ones. "Bhattacharjee played a key role in the agency with his focus on digital and led the expansion of our digital team and its services offered. Though sad to see him go, we believe Bhattacharjee will continue to soar in his career. It has been a pleasure working with him," Soo said. The agency is in the midst of appointing his replacement.

Before Invictus Blue, Bhattacharjee was with Mediabrands Malaysia as chief digital officer. He joined the team in 2012 as director, digital before rising up the ranks and taking on roles such as senior director and executive director for digital. Before Malaysia, Bhattacharjee worked at Web 18, a division of Network 18 Media and Investments in Mumbai, as well as media marketing manager at Hindustan Times, his LinkedIn said.
