Hearts & Science names new managing partner for HK

Omnicom Media Group (OMG) agency Hearts & Science has named Doris Kuok (pictured) as managing partner to lead the Hong Kong operations. Her appointment and the recent win of AS Watson’s media mandate in Hong Kong underscore Hearts & Science’s continued APAC expansion and growth.

Reporting to Derek Yip, chief operating officer, OMG Hong Kong, Kuok’s appointment is effective immediately.

In this newly created role, Kuok will oversee operations, strategic direction, financial performance, and client relationships, helping renowned brands build consumer connections that matter through innovative tools and solutions.

Kuok has over 20 years of industry experience in the beauty, FMCG, finance, insurance, luxury, and travel, hospitality sectors. She was most recently managing partner at OMG Hong Kong, during which Kuok significantly enhanced client partnerships and mutual trust.

This enabled OMG Hong Kong to collaboratively strategise, explore innovative media opportunities, and achieve exceptional key performance indicators. Kuok also played an instrumental role in Hearts & Science winning Warner Bros. Discovery in APAC and AS Watson in Hong Kong.

Yip said, “The expansion of Hearts & Science into Hong Kong represents a pivotal moment for OMG, as we establish a third agency offering. A dynamic individual with strong business acumen is required to lay the groundwork for Hearts & Science’s success in the market, and we have found that leader in Kuok. Kuok’s experience, coupled with OMG’s agency as a platform proposition, will chart a new phase of growth for Hearts & Science in Hong Kong, driving impactful results for our clients and our business.”

My goal is to foster a culture of bold creativity, strategic excellence, and deep collaboration, drawing on the vast experience and resources of OMG to deliver media solutions that help brands strengthen emotional connections with consumers and drive loyalty.”

This announcement builds on the momentum Hearts & Science has achieved in APAC since its inception in Australia and New Zealand in 2019. Earlier this year, Hearts & Science named Rochelle Chhaya as its first APAC CEO to lead a robust client roster that includes several renowned global brands, including Jaguar Land Rover and Versuni, as well as regional powerhouses such as Warner Bros. Discovery and DBS Bank.

Back in March, Hearts & Science APAC won AS Watson's media business in Hong Kong, following a competitive pitch in the second half of 2024. The brand’s incumbent dentsu took part in the pitch. 

Under the partnership, which started on 1 March, Hearts & Science is understood to be responsible for all media duties of the brand, including online and offline.
