Omnicom Media Group agency OMD has promoted Adamson Alagan (pictured) to general manager, Singapore. In his new role, Alagan will manage OMD Singapore’s business operations, client relationships, and talent. He was most recently regional business director of OMD APAC and Singapore, a role he held since joining in 2021.

Reporting to Chloe Neo, chief executive officer of OMG Singapore, Alagan is part of OMG Singapore’s executive committee and will also work closely with the OMD APAC leadership team. Moving forward, OMD Singapore CEO Sadhan Mishra will increase his focus on regional client partnerships as part of his role as OMD APAC chief client officer.

With more than a decade of experience spanning multiple markets and roles across organisations and agencies, Alagan brings expertise in integrated marketing and branding and is recognised for his forward-thinking integration of data and technology to enhance brand-consumer connections, according to a statement.

As regional business director, Alagan led teams in delivering innovative solutions and drove digital transformation and business outcomes for clients including McDonald’s and Philips. He also spearheaded various initiatives that elevated operational excellence and innovation in the agency network, which resulted in a 100% client retention rate, according to a statement by OMD.

Prior to his time at OMD, Alagan had a two-year long stint at ADK Connect Singapore, SEA as its chief digital officer. He also took on the role of director of business development at global media and ad tech solution company The Studio AG in 2017. Alagan also held positions in Wunderman, Isentia and AirAsia.

"Since joining us, Adamson has successfully driven our transformation agenda and led the teams at OMD to push boundaries in innovation, data, and tech," said Neo.

"His tenacious attitude, together with OMG’s agency as a platform proposition, will help drive OMD Singapore to the next level of growth, helping our teams and clients disrupt the status quo and create what’s next," she added.

Commenting on his appointment, Alagan said, “I thank the OMG Singapore leadership and our clients for their support and trust in my role to deliver cutting-edge media creativity and innovation. My priorities are clear: to increase focus on network connectivity for our clients, help them cut out the noise to maximise their budgets, and continue attracting and retaining the best talent."

"As our clients’ trusted agency partner, we believe in the importance of co-creating solutions with them to create what’s next in this evolving industry. With the strong team at OMD Singapore, I am confident we will continue to deliver remarkable outcomes for our clients, our business, and our people," he added.

Alagan's promotion follows Omnicom PR Group's (OPRG) most recent appointment in Singapore. In January this year, Mei Lee was named the agency's senior vice president (SVP) and managing director of its operations in the country. In the role, Lee will oversee the agency’s Singapore presence, focusing on expanding its capabilities and client roster while driving OPRG’s growth in the market.

Lee brings over 22 years of global, multidisciplinary experience in strategy consulting, marketing, digital transformation, media and general management. Most recently, she served as a partner at Boston Consulting Group in Singapore where she advised technology, media and consumer clients across APAC, Europe, Africa and the United States.
