Shortly after calling for a media pitch, Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) has now launched a creative pitch for creative production, social and digital duties. SDC confirmed the news to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE,  and the appointment is understood to be for two years, with the option of extending another year. According to GeBiz, there are currently four agencies participating in the pitch: incumbent BBH, TBWA\ Singapore, GOVT, and Huge. The work is slated to begin in the second half of the year.

Consultant R3, which is handling the media pitch, is also managing the integrated creative pitch. For the media duties, Mediabrands, Mindshare, and PHD are said to be vying for the contract. In a GeBiz tender document seen by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, the contract was for a period of two years with an option to extend for one more. The appointed agency will have to leverage on data and analytics tools and platforms, and harness different research and insights to develop digital-first marketing strategies and creative ideas.

A spokesperson from Sentosa told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that the pitches are called for its efforts to further deepen engagement with audiences across various touchpoints, including Sentosa’s array of unique leisure offerings. The length of appointments were also set to be for two years as the company looks beyond the current global pandemic. "We look forward to welcoming guests with more novel and exciting leisure offerings in 2021," the spokesperson added.

Both the pitches come closely following the departure of its SDC's CMO Lynette Ang who had been with the company for almost four years. She first took on the role in January 2017, when SDC's current marketing division was newly-formed. With her departure, Chin Sak Hin, assistant chief executive, Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC), will oversee the marketing and experience division in the interim.

In a statement to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE then, Ang said she is taking a break from full-time employment after more than 25 years of non-stop working. She also said she will be using this time to engage with her other areas of interest and discover new ones, adding that it is “a time of serendipity” for her.

Currently pending an appointment is SDC's event services pitch which seen 11 respondents, including Antares, Focus Adventures, Orange Room, and The Event Experience.
