Naga DDB Tribal picks new ECD, expands creative leadership team

Naga DDB Tribal has appointed Vix Chandra (pictured far left) as its new executive creative director. 

In this role, he will advance the agency's creative offerings whilst enhancing its digital experience and content studio services. Chandra will lead the agency's creative direction alongside chief creative officer Alvin Teoh and executive creative director Nik Radzi. 

Chandra joins Naga DDB Tribal, bringing 18 years of diverse experience with a unique and global perspective on creativity, content marketing, brand strategy and pop culture.

Prior to this role, Chandra held the role of global creative lead at On in Switzerland. During his time at On in Switzerland, Chandra excelled in integrated marketing, strategic collaborations and content generation. He also kicked off On’s recent foray into popular culture and ushered a new age for the running brand.

Chandra also held the role of creative strategist and conceptualist at LOOP New Media GmbH, creative marketing strategist at Pinwheel, creative director at Zenith and global culture social media manager at Red Bull Media House amongst others. 

In tandem, Naga DDB Tribal has appointed Loo Swee Mei (pictured left) as senior creative director. In her new role, she will enhance Naga DDB Tribal's creative leadership and drive its mission of delivering world-class creative solutions. 

Loo brings nearly two decades of experience in both agency and client roles having worked across agencies such as FCB Malaysia, Ogilvy, Dentsu and Spin. 

Loo also held leadership roles at Dentsu Shanghai and Shanghai Disney Resort. In her career, she has worked on campaigns for brands such as Canon, Toyota, Malaysia International Airports, KFC, PlayStation 5 and Nespresso. 

Loo joins the agency as it attempts to expand its creative leadership team and advance brand, business and strategic led creative experiences. The appointments are also a move to uplift the standards of the agency's core service offerings. 

In addition, Naga DDB Tribal has named Alicia Hew as its new creative director. Prior to joining Naga DDB Tribal, Hew was a creative director at Dentsu Creative for two years. 

She also served over five years at Bonsey Jaden as its creative director, associate creative director and creative group head. 

According to her LinkedIn, Hew started her career as a copywriter in several agencies including Ogilvy, McCann Worldgroup and BBDO Worldwide. 

In her career, she has led initiatives for brands such as Guinness, Maybelline, Nike, Snickers, Wrigley's and Mamee Monster. 

Finally, Ong Poh Jet (pictured far right) joins the agency as associate creative director. Ong brings over a decade of experience in design and art direction from renowned agencies such as M&C Saatchi, Ogilvy, and Bonsey Jaden.

His stints have seen him contribute to brands such as Pizza Hut, Coca-Cola, Astro, and KFC.

Ong's ability to lead and inspire design and creative teams elevates the agency’s visual and design output to deliver in its mission to create experiences that captivate and inspire audiences, said a statement seen by A+M. 

"At Naga DDB Tribal, we have strong ambitions for growth and a vision of what we can evolve into in the very near future," said Kristian Lee, group executive director, Naga DDB Tribal.  

"With our on-going investment in talent, creative stewardship and inspiration brought about beginning with the additions of Chandra, Loo, Hew and Ong to the agency, we are confident and excited about the impact they will have in charting the future of our agency as well as in achieving our commitment of delivering even higher standards of excellence across various creative disciplines to the benefit of our current and potential clientele.”

Meanwhile, in late June this year, Tribal Worldwide's executive creative director, Benson Toh, stepped down from the role after 13 years, as confirmed by Toh to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

He will be moving to Moon Rabbit Singapore as its managing partner and executive creative director. 

"I have been with Tribal Worldwide for the past 13 years but as a creative, I am always looking for new challenges and the calling for me to explore new horizons beyond Tribal has been quite intense of late," said Toh. 

"I'm eager to apply the skills and expertise I've developed here to a new context and continue my professional evolution," he added.
