M&C Saatchi Indonesia has promoted ECD Dami Sidharta to chief creative officer effective immediately. Sidharta (pictured) co-founded the agency together with president director Anish Daryani in January 2018. The promotion comes after Sidharta's three years at the agency.

"Sidharta played an instrumental role in bringing brand storytelling to life," Daryani said, adding that the agency reported growth last year despite the pandemic. "He has been an ace performer since we launched the agency, it's time to reward him, and also make room for more senior creative promotions within the agency," Daryani said. He also added that these are steps that are in line with the agency's growth plans.

Sidharta said: "This promotion is an achievement for the dream we built three years ago and how far we have come in our journey at M&C Saatchi Indonesia." He added that he looks forward to taking to agency's stories to Asia and beyond. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to M&C Saatchi for comment.

Prior to his role at the agency, according to Sidharta's LinkedIn, he was the creative director and associate creative director at Dentsu in 2017 and 2014 respectively. He was also the art director for BMW Dentsu Sydney in 2016. Before joining dentsu, he helmed the role of creative group head and senior art director at Leo Burnett Indonesia, in 2013 and 2009 respectively. Before that, he was the art director at Octocomm Asia in 2006, his LinkedIn said.

Separately, in December 2020, M&C Saatchi Indonesia appointed Nadia Yuliani to creative director. Yuliani brought more than 15 years of work experience to the agency, having worked at Leo Burnett, ColmanHandoko, Arcade and Bates. Over these years, she has worked with a range of clients from FMCG, telco, banks and F&B brands.

Despite 2020 being a challenging year for many, it was still a memorable one for the M&C Saatchi Indonesia team as the agency bagged creative duties for Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy last September. This followed a pitch which saw 90 agencies participate, including WOW Komunindo, Kadence International, Lintas Cipta Media and Gemilang Kreatif Indonesia, among others. The account was said to be valued at more than IDR3 billion, according to the ministry's website then, and the integrated marketing campaign is expected to launch this year across China Japan, South Korea, Germany, the UK and US.
