
Havas Red Philippines appoints new head

Havas Ortega has appointed Alex Pastor (pictured) as the new head of Havas Red Philippines, a PR, social media, and experiential content agency based in Manila. His appointment comes as Havas Red looks to reinforce its commitment to strengthening its PR capabilities and driving innovation in the communications landscape.
Under Pastor’s leadership, one of Havas Red’s key priorities will be to strengthen its digital presence, as it acknowledges the increasing influence of online platforms in consumer engagement.
In a statement, Havas Red that the strategic move marks a significant step in elevating Havas Red Philippines’ position, delivering dynamic solutions, and fostering meaningful connections for clients.

The team is set to focus on integrating social media strategies, content marketing, and influencer collaborations into its services, to expand brand visibility and strengthen connections between brands and its audiences.
Havas Red also aims to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation amid growing needs to adapt to the evolving media landscape.
The agency said it will leverage digital advancements and integrate data-driven insights to craft more effective communication strategies. It also added that Pastor’s appointment highlights Havas Ortega’s commitment to enhancing its PR capabilities through innovation, collaboration, digital transformation, and authenticity.
Pastor is a veteran PR and communications expert with over 20 years of experience. Prior to his role at Havas Red, Pastor was the senior global communications manager of Hitachi Energy based in the Philippines for two years. Earlier, he was an associate PR director with Stratworks Inc. for over five years up until 2022.

“With distinct PR offerings such as SWAY Influencer Marketing, Red Impact Sustainability, and PEAKS Executive Branding, along with a strong new business pipeline, I believe Alex will propel the Havas Red brand to its next phase of growth in the Philippines,” he added.
Meanwhile, chief operating officer of Havas Media Network Philippines, Jay Lim said “In line with these strategic goals, Alex Pastor will also focus on expanding Havas Red’s client portfolio, exploring opportunities across key industries such as technology, healthcare, and sustainability to develop tailored communication strategies that address sector-specific needs.”
This comes as Havas' listing on Euronext Amsterdam in January 2025, officially making it a public company after completing its spin-off from Vivendi SE. It said that the strategic transaction will provide Havas with opportunities to accelerate its growth and solidify its position as a global creative and strategic leader in the marketing and communications industry.
Earlier last year, Havas Ortega appointed a new head of growth, Rozzaine Valenzuela. She was picked to lead initiatives to expand the agency's client base and advance its service offerings. Under the role, she would also work directly with the various specialty teams of the HAVAS village.
Meanwhile, Havas Red as a micronetwork, also made moves to expand its business in the APAC region last September, by opening up in Japan. This followed the network’s regional expansion in 2023, when it acquired a majority stake in one of India’s foremost PR consultancy firms, PR Pundit, which now operates as PR Pundit HAVAS Red. The expansion to Japan brough Havas Red’s merged media capabilities into a total of 19 markets around the world.
