Zeno Malaysia MD David Lian takes on Asia remit

David Lian (pictured), managing director of Zeno Malaysia, has taken on the new role of managing director, Asia, growth and innovation, according to his LinkedIn. Lian told A+M that he is still based in Malaysia. Replacing him is director Amanda Leong, who has been promoted to general manager of the Malaysia operations.Lian held the managing director role for close to six years, and was responsible for building the team and service offerings in Malaysia. Prior to joining Zeno, he was with Archetype Malaysia (formerly known as Text100) for about seven years and last helmed the role of APAC digital lead. He also worked at FleishmanHillard for three years. FleishmanHillard exited the Malaysia market in September last year.In a previous interview with A+M about hiring new graduates, Lian said it is off putting when fresh graduates are indecisive and unable to commit to a course of action. According to him, it is important to be firm in one's convictions and make the best decision in every circumstance. When hiring, Lian looks at behaviour, values, and character traits more than qualifications. Candidates who show good judgement and commitment to getting the job done, as well as willingness to explore new ideas highly impress the team.
