Wavemaker China has appointed Frank Lin (pictured left) as its new chief transformation officer as part of its efforts to strengthen its China leadership.

Lin boasts over 25 years of experience in the advertising industry. His career in the industry started in the 1990s at Grey, followed by brand-side digital and marketing leadership positions at the likes of McDonald’s. The agency said Lin was a pioneer of the digital transformation practice and finessed through management roles at Simei, Leo Digital and, most recently, ChiefClouds, before joining Wavemaker China.

Lin has been helping marketers and brands in verticals spanning FMCG, Retail, F&B and luxury, building data and measurement systems to improve marketing strategies and enhance business results.

He said, "Successfully implementing integrated marketing analytics solutions requires a practiced balance of technical expertise, business strategy, relationship building, storytelling and selling. I very much look forward to joining the team at Wavemaker to drive transformation and provoke growth for clients, with support from our GroupM and WPP network.”

Apart from Lin, Wavemaker China has also made several other management appointments. Josephine Har (pictured upper middle) has been appointed as chief strategy officer in addition to her existing role as chief growth officer. She has over 20 years of experience in communications and has been with the agency for more than seven years, having held client leadership and strategy roles. In her new role, she will bring together strategy with planning and activation to fast-track growth for Wavemaker clients.

National head of OOH Eddie Zhuang (pictured upper right) will lead the agency's overall OOH business. Boasting a wealth of experience in OOH planning and investment and having led OOH teams at Mindshare, Portland, Carat and Kinetic, he will now integrate effective OOH investment planning, product innovation and business solutions into Wavemaker’s integrated offer for clients.

Moreover, Riki Li (pictured lower middle) has been appointed as national head of content. With over 13 years of experience in the industry, Li has developed strategies for the agency’s clients, enabling them to make the most of the complex China ecosystem. In this national role, she will continue to lead data-driven addressable content and brand-to-commerce solutions to empower Wavemaker China's clients.

Lastly, Tanya Xing (pictured lower right) has been named as national head of precision. She leads the performance team at Wavemaker China, encompassing all the agency’s precision, search and eCommerce teams. She will also continue building the agency’s performance practice with solutions.

All of them will be based in Shanghai and will be part of CEO Jose Campon’s China leadership team. “I believe that for agencies to add real value and drive growth, especially in China, agility and continuous transformation are key. Wavemaker China has had a very successful year in 2021, allowing us to better set the foundations to foster further growth for years to come. We are building and strengthening our team to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible to create better growth for our clients," Campon said.
