Village Hotel Sentosa creates miniature worlds using everyday items

Village Hotel Sentosa by Far East Hospitality recently rolled out a set of photos on its social media platforms, inspired by the hotel’s new mini hotelier experience. Done by Socialyse, five different miniature worlds were created using everyday items such as flour, tomatoes, and berries among others, to promote Village Hotel Sentosa's new Mini Hotelier Experience. These include a group of mini chef figurines working in a kitchen as well as gardeners digging soil on a life-size planter comprising chocolate soil, fresh blueberries and strawberries.

The photoshoot collection is conceptualised to depict the five different mini hotelier experiences offered to children, which are Mini Housekeeper, Mini Artist, Mini Engineer, Mini Chef and Mini Gardener. Apart from promoting these new experiences, the miniature worlds were produced to influence creativity and encourage curiosity and wonder among viewers.

Village Hotel Sentosa reopened its doors last month by offering new and interactive experiences that will allow children to learn and develop new skills through play. Aside from the mini hotelier experiences that let children try out different professions, the hotel also offers meet-and-greet sessions with its mascots as well as an array of activities and workshops. These experiences are part of the Village Playcation package that includes a two-night stay in a Family Room, a choice of one mini hotelier experience, unlimited access to the package's Playtivities and more experiences. The Village Cart also greets children in the hotel lobby and features a wide variety of sweets and biscuits such as Khong Guan biscuits, muruku, haw flakes and White Rabbit candy.

The Mini Chef experience, offered in partnership with Doughworks by Commonwealth Concepts, aims to use culinary arts as a medium that offers a combination of instructional, experiential and educational learning. Children will be immersed in full interactive activities like decorating their own cupcakes and cookies while learning how to identify the different kitchen equipment used for cooking and baking, as well as the different ingredients used in preparing their goods.

Meanwhile, the Mini Gardener experience is for children who love nature and will allow them to either create a botanical pouch or engage in a potting activity. Offered in collaboration with Edible Garden City, the experience will also include a multi-sensory tour of the hotel’s edible garden, where children will get to touch, smell and taste a variety of edible plants.

Mini Artist and Mini Engineer are alternatives for children who want to express their creativity and imagination. The former will offer a workshop to teach kids how to draw and create their own artwork, while the latter, will educate children on the different types of tools an engineer often use and they will also be tasked to build things with Lego.

Mini Housekeeper, on the other hand, will impart children with crucial life skills like how to change a bed sheet, how to fold a shirt and more.  Regardless of which experiences they pick, these five hope to give children a chance to explore, develop new skills, express ideas and build relationships with others.

Separately, on the agency front, Far East Hospitality reappointed ADK Connect Singapore for the sixth consecutive year in February. The agency will oversee PR duties, social media strategy and management and content planning for Far East Hospitality's corporate accounts.

Ernawati Setjio, head of marketing communications, Far East Hospitality said previously that having an invaluable strategic partner that understands its goals and internal processes was an integral decision to continue its partnership with the ADK Connect team.Far East Hospitality and ADK Connect took the pandemic and heightened restrictions as an opportunity to distinguish Far East from its competitors. The team developed a structured calendar that maps to the Singapore Tourism Board’s recovery direction: sustain, recover, and transform.
