FairPrice Group and HPB team up to encourage healthier food purchases

FairPrice Group (FPG) and the Health Promotion Board (HPB) are teaming up to link their mobile apps.

The linked mobile apps will allow Singaporeans to earn 'Healthpoints' seamlessly on HPB's Healthy 365 app when they make healthier food purchases using the FPG app.

Healthier food purchases include groceries with the 'Healthier choice symbol' across FairPrice supermarkets and online, Unity pharmacies and healthier dining programme (HDP) endorsed food and drinks at Kopitiam food courts.

The earned Healthpoints will be in addition to Linkpoints which customers already earn for most purchases.

The enhancement is part of FPG’s ongoing commitment to offer its customers a rewarding experience in making healthier food choices.

“Our hectic lifestyles coupled with responsibilities such as work, or school can make it easy for health and nutrition to become an afterthought. Initiatives such as HPB’s Healthy 365 app remind us how important it is to take control of our health and wellness journeys. As the nation’s largest retailer, we are energised to work with HPB to leverage our network of over 570 touch points across the island to help reward Singaporeans when they make healthier choices in their daily lives,” said Vipul Chawla, group CEO, FPG.

Meanwhile, customers can exchange their HPB Healthpoints to redeem FairPrice, transport and food vouchers. For example, with 750 HPB Healthpoints, customers may choose to redeem a five-dollar FairPrice voucher which is equivalent to a bottle of lower-sodium soy sauce and a loaf of wholemeal bread.

Qualifying grocery and drink products will earn five HPB Healthpoints while a qualifying food product will learn 10 HPB Healthpoints.

The enhancement also comes as FPG expands its omni-channel ecosystem. Earlier this April, FPG launched its new 'Food and Wellness Content Hub', a quarterly print magazine and digital content hub that will provide consumers with the latest insights, information, and expert opinions on food, nutrition, and wellness.

The magazine will showcase behind the scenes exclusives and interviews with food specialists and advice and opinions from wellness experts. To address the inflationary environment, the content hub will also feature tips and tricks on how consumers can maximise value and stretch their dollar.
