Publicis Groupe Singapore has appointed Stefanie Liew as GM for Digitas, with effect from 1 October. In her new role, Liew (pictured) will take charge of the multi-disciplined agency in Singapore, partnering with Publicis Groupe agencies and clients to connect media to experience, CRM and commerce – enabled by specialist teams across data, content, and technology. She will report to Ian Loon, CEO for media and digital, Publicis Groupe Singapore, and Adrian Farouk, APAC CEO of Digitas.

“In my new role, I will be working to unfold the various capabilities and products of Digitas with the rest of the Groupe, and to facilitate our teams in delivering great ideas and results to our clients,” Liew added.

Liew was previously executive director at Zenith Singapore, where she led the Singapore Tourism Board business for the media agency globally. She was also part of Zenith’s global data council. Prior to that, Liew spent 10 years in Shanghai at Ogilvy, Tribal DDB, Nurun and TBWA\ working across loyalty, analytics, creative, and social assignments for clients such as J&J, Unilever, Pernod Ricard, adidas, IHG, and H&M. Before moving to Shanghai, Liew spent six years working at agencies in Kuala Lumpur, including Ogilvy and G2 Direct, according to her LinkedIn.

Loon said that he is excited for Liew to take Digitas Singapore forward, and to supercharge business growth with connected marketing solutions for Digitas’ clients. “Liew is a gifted hunter, connector and leader. She has immense ability to identify and realise opportunities for her clients, never shies away from tackling legacy or deep issues, builds relationships with individuals from all walks of life to share common interests, and has a proven track record in leading her teams to deliver outstanding work,” he added.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE previously interviewed Liew in 2018 about her passion outside of work which involved a cake pop bakery known as Bake-A-Licious, specialising in made-to-order cake pops for customers.  "I was thinking about what I should do and one of my friends told me that cake pop was a growing market back then. At that time, I was taking a break from work and my sister joined me in Shanghai. She had some spare time on her hands too so the both of us decided to do something with it," Liew said previously.

Liew's appointment comes nearly two months after Publicis Groupe Singapore made a slew of leadership promotions across its media and digital capabilities – Oliver Spalding, Elaine Poh, Martin Davie, Vivian Yeo, Youli Hooi, Janice Liong, Patrico Blasco and Reevi Rajan in July this year. Loon said then that its agencies are significantly better equipped with shared firepower to lead unified customer experiences and connected marketing solutions for its clients’ business growth.
