Ogilvy Malaysia has appointed Fiona Jitab (pictured) as its new director of social.
Jitab's new role comes after an eight-month break from corporate life to focus on independent projects and freelance opportunities.
“I am pleased to be back with the Ogilvy family to continue the creative and impactful work we are known for with collaboration with other departments and offices in the network," said Jitab when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.

"I look forward to engaging with clients locally and regionally to elevate their presence, impact and influence in the ever-changing digital space," she added.
In her new role, Jitab will be reporting to Q Akashah, managing director, PR and influence, social, Ogilvy Singapore and Malaysia.
Jitab rejoins Ogilvy in Malaysia after a two-year stint at Ogilvy Bangkok where she was the regional digital conversation strategist.
"After three incredible years in Bangkok, I'm pleased to announce that I'm back in Kuala Lumpur and have rejoined the Ogilvy family as director of social," said Jitab in a LinkedIn post.
"It's been a journey filled with amazing experiences and learnings across different offices (and countries), teams, and clients," she added.
In the same LinkedIn post, Jitab said she is looking to collaborate on building a brand voice and developing an effective communications strategy amongst others.
Prior to joining Ogilvy, she was a community manager at Digitas APAC and a senior consultant at Archetype.
Her longest stint was at Text100 where she served for six years. At Text100, Jitab held various titles including senior consultant, associate account manager, analytics lead and social media analytics senior specialist.
Earlier in March this year, Ogilvy PR promoted James Baldwin to the role of head of influence for the Asia-Pacific region. He will report to Rahul Titus, Ogilvy’s global head of influence, and Emily Poon, president of Ogilvy PR in Asia-Pacific.
In this new role, Baldwin will be based in Singapore and will lead the agency’s influence offerings across the region, leading go-to-market strategy, enhancing capability differentiation, driving business development and innovation, and overseeing the delivery of class influencer and creator-led campaigns, the agency said in a statement at the time.
