Nespresso Singapore has appointed Iris for PR duties. The integrated agency's PR arm will manage Nespresso's media relations, events activation and influencer marketing for the Swiss brand. The appointment is effective immediately and comes following a pitch earlier this year.

The agency will be tasked to manage Nespresso’s efforts across Singapore, including communications and influencer strategy as well as a focus on content development across the sustainability and coffee quality spaces. Prior to this, Nespresso Singapore worked with Golin for PR duties.

Peilin Lee, Nespresso's marketing manager for Singapore said Nespresso Singapore has had a positive start with the launch of its “Barista Creations” campaign, where it launched three new flavoured coffees. Responding to the stay-home situation, the Swiss brand then engaged six local influencers in a relay competition to create indulgent coffee recipes at home with mystery ingredients.

“We shared these delicious coffee creations across various paid and owned touchpoints, garnering a reach of over seven million. We look forward to what we can accomplish together with Iris’ innovative spirit and high adaptability,” she added.

Meanwhile, Rahat Kapur, head of PR at Iris Singapore said: "We are delighted to be selected as Nespresso's public relations agency of record in Singapore. Nespresso is a globally prestigious brand with a dynamic portfolio of PR opportunities and products we love. We've thoroughly enjoyed our journey together thus far and are looking forward to the creativity, innovation and amazing coffee we can brew together."

Earlier this month, NTUC FairPrice appointed creative agency Iris and production agency Hogarth, following a closed door pitch first called in November 2019. The agencies Iris and Hogarth were selected with the help of consultants R3. Iris will be tasked to handle the creative and strategy elements for the FairPrice Group’s retail business brands, while Hogarth will handle creative production. The appointment is for a period of two years and both agencies will work on FairPrice, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra, Cheers and Unity.

In March this year, Iris Singapore appointed Andy Cairns as the new managing director, as then managing director Sorcha John will head up Iris Future Strategy in APAC. Cairns was last with M&C Saatchi Australia as its managing director. Meanwhile, John will lead Future Strategy, which is a new global, strategic discipline focused on navigating the "long-term transformational shifts" that will impact and "enable businesses to thrive in a rapidly changing world". Iris Future Strategy aims to combine deep foresight, strategic modelling, speculative design and creativity as tools to accelerate the delivery of long-term competitiveness.
