Mediabrands Content Studio's (MBCS) group creative director, Amir Faiz has stepped down from the role after just over eight years in the company helming various roles, according to Faiz when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out.
"I felt it was time to move on. It’s been eight wonderful years. I will look back at my career with IPG fondly. Like every place I worked at, I gave it my all to match my high ambitions. And I wanted to end my time there on a high note," said Faiz.
Faiz joined MBCS Malaysia in 2015 as its creative director where he led the creative department across all social and digital communications for Rally Worldwide, Society and Reprise Digital.
After four years in the role, he was promoted to group creative director for Reprise Digitial and MBCS where he led a team of 35 creatives. In 2022, Fair took on the role of group creative director of MBCS.

In his role, Faiz led a team of 20 creatives and worked with clients such as Nestle, AIA, KFC, Malaysia Airlines and Campbell’s.
"Eight plus years. Over 100 months. That’s how long I’ve been with IPG Malaysia. What a great ride it has been," said Faiz on LinkedIn. "Truthfully, I had no idea what I would achieve. But I always had big ambitions, the burning desire to win and make global headlines," he said.
He added that while there were many failures along the way, he took them humbly and learnt from them. "Didn’t get to tick a few goals on my [list] but I left with a deep sense of fulfillment, gratitude, humility and pride," he said.
Prior to his stint at MBCS, Amir was a freelance creative consultant at Dolphin, a social-led communications agency. There he worked with brands such as Kia, Goodyear, Sunway Lagoon and Celcom.
Before that, he spent just under three years as associate creative director of Zenith. He helmed the digital division of Zenith Malaysia, specialising in social media and content and worked with brands such as Petronas, Maybank, Celcom, Coway and Ogawa.
He has also held roles in agencies such as Dentsu Malaysia, Innity and Shiroku Production in his career.
Faiz told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that he is now in Europe taking a lengthy break while also looking for opportunities there.
"I guess I always knew that I will end up overseas somewhere. A break called and I answered. I will absolutely make full use of it before getting back to the grind, more determined now than ever before," he said.
