Patrick Girod (pictured) has been appointed CEO of L’Oréal Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia and will be succeeding Ines Caldeira who will return to headquarters in Paris. According to L’Oréal, in his new position, Girod will continue to focus on the transformation agenda to win consumers, channel shift, and drive L’Oréal in Thailand.

During his 24 years at L’Oréal, he has held positions in China, Japan, Brazil and Greece. He takes over from Caldeira and oversaw many successes during her tenure.

He spent the past three years as a global deputy general manager for L’Oréal Paris. Girod played a key role in driving the brand’s growth in more than 50 markets, including China and emerging markets.

Prior to that, he served as zone general manager for the consumer products division in North Asia. In the role, Girod was able to forge strong partnerships with each country during this time, said the company. Additionally, he oversaw the regional growth of L’Oréal Paris, helped initiate the turnaround of Maybelline in China and undertook a major role in the acquisition of Korean makeup brand, 3CE Stylenanda.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out for additional information.

Girod started his career at L’Oréal in 1998 and has extensive experience building partnerships and leading growth, especially in Asia.

“I am delighted and excited to be in Thailand to take a leadership role in this strategic country. The country’s beauty market is one of the biggest in the region and we have seen many beauty aspirations, trends and best practices emerging from here. I will work closely with the team and our business partners to ensure that Thai consumers will be one of the first groups in the region to experience new product innovations and beauty tech services, in both online and offline channels through our renowned 15 brands,” Girod explained.
