IPG Mediabrands has announced the appointments of a new global CFO and global president, effective immediately. The appointments have been made with the goal of adding fresh perspectives to accelerate transformation.
Global chief financial officer Marlene Pelage joins IPG Mediabrands from Charles Schwab, where she served as CFO following a 15 year tenure with the firm. Pelage brings extensive international experience, being raised in Martinique, studying in Paris, and working on strategy and risk management for Credit Agricole Suez in London and Hong Kong. Pelage will manage the global IPG Mediabrands P&L.
Pelage replaces Guy Beach, who is being promoted to global president. Beach has been with the agency for eight years — two as CFO — and proved to be a strong leader and advocate for clients throughout the challenges of the pandemic. In his new role, Beach will lead company transformation initiatives and also work to achieve the agency's worldwide sustainability goals.
"We are thrilled to promote Guy and bring Marlene into the network,” said Daryl Lee, global CEO at Mediabrands.
"As the world tentatively emerges from lockdown, the watchword of the year is transformation. Guy possesses the deep knowledge of our business and of our clients required to keep Mediabrands ahead of the curve when it comes to better ways of working globally. Marlene will bring a fresh perspective to our financial teams and systems and insights from an adjacent industry that will help us turbocharge how we demonstrate value to our clients," Lee added.
