Integrated creative agency DSTNCT has appointed Genevieve Sarah Loh as its director of content and strategic communications, effective immediately.

In her role, Loh will helm content strategy and communications for the agency's diverse portfolio, which includes the ministry of digital development and information, national arts council, AIA Singapore, Mandai, StarHub and CapitaLand Singapore.

Prior to joining DSTNCT, Loh was best known as the founding member of CNA Lifestyle, shaping the lifestyle and entertainment coverage of the publication for over 15 years. During her time at CNA, Loh covered major cultural events including the Academy Awards, Cannes Film Festival and Venice Biennale, alongside interviews with personalities across the globe.

Before her stint at CNA, Loh was part of Zouk Group's marketing team and was a publicist at artiste agency Fly Entertainment. She started her career as a facilitator for Act3 school programmes, according to her LinkedIn.

Most recently, she was a marketing and public relations consultant for festivals at Red Spade Entertainment and is an entrepreneur in residence at Antler.

Her addition to DSTNCT's leadership team comes at a strategic moment as the agency continues its expansion trajectory, according to a statement seen by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

"What draws me to brand storytelling is its potential to capture the zeitgeist – to speak to how we live, what we value, and what moves us," said Loh.

"I'm looking forward to bringing this perspective to DSTNCT, working with DSTNCT’s managing director and co-founder Matthew Zeng and his talented team to help brands find their authentic voice in today's media landscape," she added.

To Loh's appointment, Zeng said that "We believe brands today have the unprecedented opportunity to become their own media powerhouses. With Loh on board, we are one step closer to helping brands do that, with their own content and IPs."

"Her insights into the power of narrative, combined with her deep understanding of the media landscape, make her an invaluable member of the team as we continue to push the boundaries of creativity and brand potential," added Zeng.

DSTNCT is not the only creative agency in recent times eyeing expansion. In October 2024, it was reported that creative network GUT opened a new office in Singapore, the first based in Asia and the tenth in the network.

The Singapore office adds to the network's existing locations in Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Toronto, Mexico, Miami, Los Angeles, Amsterdam and Madrid. With this expansion, GUT Singapore aims to become one of the most diverse, creative and influential agencies in Asia and beyond, it added in its statement.
