PR firm Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) has appointed Jason Cheang and Vylvianne Devajothi as its director of integrated communications and regional PR services lead for Singapore respectively. Cheang (pictured left) joins the team to drive H+K Asia’s Innovation + Creativity Hub, while Devajothi (pictured right) is tasked to grow H+K’s regional clients through consistent and impactful communication programmes rooted in insights and creativity. Both Cheang and Devajothi report to Matthew Briant, head of H+K’s Innovation + Creativity Hub and managing director of H+K Singapore.

Prior to joining H+K, Cheang was with Metia Group, helming the role of head of digital, Asia Pacific & Japan. He brings with him over sixteen years of experience in digital strategy and marketing communications in the region, having worked with various enterprise, consumer and government clients including Singapore Tourism Board, Ministry of Transport, GovTech, Singtel, Dell Technologies, Costa Coffee, Marks & Spencer, British Council, and Citibank.

Meanwhile, Devajothi's expertise is said to range across PR, digital, social and offline, with a focus on content strategy and distribution. She previously led integrated communications for corporate clients across PR and social at Havas Singapore. Her portfolio of clients included brands such as Nikon, Changi Airport Group, Philip Morris International, Singapore Management University, Roche Diagnostics, Qlik, Red Hat, and Tata Communications. She has also worked out of San Jose, California, at a technology PR agency on brands such as Avast Software, Nokia Nuage Networks, NXP Semiconductors, and Dimension Data.

Commenting on the new hires, Briant said: “I am thrilled to have these two accomplished individuals join our regional Hub team. At H+K, we put creativity and team culture at the heart of everything we do. I am confident that this further strengthening of our regional capabilities will drive greater value for our clients through consistently delivering the highest standard of creative and strategic communications across Asia.” Braint assumed his role in September 2019.

HS Chung, President, H+K Asia added that the agency's new hires underline its ambition to aggressively pursue growth and focus on creating leading-edge offerings for its clients across the region. "Our Innovation + Creativity Hub has been successfully providing our regional clients with podcasting and multi-platform measurement services particularly in these times among others. By bringing on board these talented minds, I look forward to strengthening our capabilities by implementing customer-centric solutions ensuring purpose and excellence at the centre," Chung added.

The Innovation + Creativity team at Hill+Knowlton Strategies Singapore houses expertise in digital planning and optimisation, data and analytics, as well as behavioural science and content and publishing. As the regional hub for its Asia business, H+K Singapore said it aims to provide its clients with a regional view through a local lens. The team is built to drive regional consistency, whilst being aligned with local market nuances, and help brands to communicate effectively across a fragmented landscape.
