Aaron Lau, (pictured middle), former president of international at Cheil Worldwide, has founded Gusto Collective, and acquired Reuter Communications as part of the group.

An Asian start-up, Gusto Collective has positioned itself as a brand-tech holding company, combining storytelling and creativity with immersive digital and mobile technology. Headquartered in Hong Kong, the group will provide global, regional and local clients with a portfolio of digital-first services, and expand its core solutions in consultancy and data, content creation and distribution, and immersive AR/VR technology through a mix of acquisitions, joint ventures, and start-ups in the region.

Lau serves as chairman and CEO of Gusto Collective.

“Gusto Collective sits at the intersection of the dramatic growth in the digital and tech revolution that empowers people to create, produce and share content,” he said.

“The combination of explosive growth in middle-class consumerism, coupled with the rapid deployment of technology, including the launch of 5G, the maturing of augmented, virtual and mixed reality technologies as marketing tools, creates a perfect opportunity for the launch of Gusto Collective.”

Apart from founding the group, Lau has also acquired a majority stake in Reuter Communications, backed by an initial multi million-dollar investment from himself and a group of high-profile Asian investors.

Reuter Communications has been renamed to Gusto Luxe, and will transition over the coming months. Partners Chloé Reuter (pictured left) and Nick Cakebread (pictured right), of Reuter Communications, will stay with Gusto Luxe and take on key roles in growing Gusto Collective at a group level.

Both of them will have new titles as Reuter will become a founding partner and vice-chair of Gusto Luxe and Gusto Collective, while Cakebread will take the position of founding partner of Gusto Luxe and Gusto Collective.

“We are thrilled to announce that Reuter Communications has become Gusto Luxe. Gusto Collective is made up of the most talented and entrepreneurial people in our industry. We believe the future of our industry lies in its constant evolution and we are convinced that technology’s importance will keep growing,” Reuter said.

Gusto Collective serves more than 80 clients across Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, and London. The group is also made up of Gusto Media Lab, a digital tech studio delivering compelling media, immersive experiences, and innovative marketing solutions.
