GroupM Hong Kong has elevated Scotty Ho (pictured left) and Johnny Ng (pictured right) to the roles of vice president, strategy and growth, as confirmed to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

As part of the leadership team and executive committee for GroupM Hong Kong, they report directly to Michael Beecroft, CEO, North East Asia, GroupM.

Building on GroupM Hong Kong's leading position in media activation, solidified through GroupM Nexus, these newly created roles will focus on delivering the next level of client value.

Ho and Ng will provide enhanced strategic thinking and innovative solutions, including AI deployment, ensuring clients in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area receive customised strategies that go beyond operational excellence.

In the newly created roles, Ho and Ng are tasked at driving growth for clients in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area through increased focus on strategic thinking and innovation. They are also responsible for delivering holistic, integrated growth solutions as one media group.

With over 20 years of experience working in digital strategy and marketing, Ng has gained extensive experience at some of the biggest global marketing and media agencies, servicing major accounts and clients. He was most recently the regional head of strategy and partnerships of L'Atelier.

As a GroupM veteran, Ho joined the company as Wavemaker Hong Kong's strategy director in 2018, and was most recently the managing partner of Wavemaker APAC.

Ho said: “Positioned at the forefront of Hong Kong’s media landscape and leveraging on our strong network in China’s mainland, we recognise the tremendous opportunity for growth in the GBA as well. Compounded with the city’s exceptional connectivity and the advanced data and technology of the GroupM network, we are committed to developing innovative strategies that drive business success and engage audiences on a global scale.”

Meanwhile, Ng said: "This is an exciting time for GroupM. The evolving media landscape presents significant growth opportunities, and we're ready – especially in a market like Hong Kong that continues to reinvent itself as a bridge to and from China’s mainland, as a global innovation hub for the APAC region, and as an international centre of excellence.”

“We see tremendous potential not just in our traditional media capabilities, but also through emerging technologies and diversified services. I'm eager to help accelerate our growth strategy and deliver innovative solutions that drive value for our clients,” he added.

The new appointments come after GroupM Hong Kong's CEO Alice Chow and Mindshare's managing director for Hong Kong Irene Tsui departed last May.

It is understood that this is part of GroupM's global strategy to simplify the leadership structure. Meanwhile, GroupM's Northeast Asia CEO Michael Beecroft will oversee the Hong Kong office.
