Dettol Malaysia has appointed M&C Saatchi to manage social duties for a year, which includes digital requirements. This follows a pitch held in November 2019.

In a statement to A+M, M&C Saatchi’s spokesperson said it was chosen for its pitch proposal, creative ideas, and strategic outlook for the brand. Work started in January this year.  Separately in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, Dettol Malaysia has posted tips to teach Malaysians how to prevent the spread of infection, the symptoms, how it spreads, the best way to wash one’s hands, as well as whether Dettol kills COVID-19. Dettol is one of the brands under Reckitt Benckiser which also include Enfamil, Nurofen, Strepsils, and Gaviscon.

Reckitt Benckiser has also launched a couple of initiatives to help the COVID-19 situation in China. Amidst the outbreak, Mead Johnson Nutrition launched the “Embrace Life” programme in partnership with several Chinese organisations to support the vulnerable expectant mothers in Hubei Province. Mead Johnson Nutrition donated RMB 5 million for the initiative, which adds on to a previous donation of RMB 50 million made by Dettol in end January.

Earlier this month, Reckitt Benckiser appointed Omnicom Media Group its media agency in Indonesia. The appointment comes following a review in Q4 2019 which saw GroupM’s MediaCom pitching for the account. A+M understands that the media account is estimated to be about US$30m, and the incumbent was IPG Mediabrands.
