Dentsu Asia-Pacific’s chief creative officer, Ted Lim (pictured), is leaving the network after seven years, taking on an advisory role effective immediately until June 2020. Lim joined Dentsu in 2013 to lead its creative offering across Southeast Asia, and subsequently took on an expanded remit for Asia Pacific outside of Japan. DAN's spokesperson told Marketing that there is no immediate replacement for Lim's role.

Lim said it has been an amazing seven years transforming the creative network, product and culture across the Asia-Pacific. He explained that he joined Dentsu to help transform the agency into a multinational network and in the process, transformed himself.

"We worked with data, creativity, technology and media to produce innovative business solutions in the digital, experiential and social space. We brought in multinational talent, worked across continents, won global business and international acclaim. I’m looking forward to the next adventure," he added. In August this year, Lim took over Andy Greenaway's duties when he stepped down as DAN's ECD to pursue opportunities in the industry.

DAN Asia Pacific executive chairman Takaki Hibino said Lim has brought true creativity and innovation to Dentsu in Asia.

"We deeply appreciate the transformative work that he has done for our creative offering outside of Japan and for establishing Dentsu Asia Pacific as the award-winning network that it is today. We are glad to be able to have him in an advisory role before he leaves us in June to pursue other opportunities, where he will undoubtedly continue to leave an indelible mark," he said.

Lim's exit comes shortly after the network announced that Nick Waters, former APAC CEO, is stepping down from his role of executive chairman of DAN UK and Ireland at the end of this year. The move came one year after he moved to London. Meanwhile, former CEO of DAN ANZ Henry Tajer also stepped down from his role, along with former CFO Reg Davidson. Tajer joined the network in February this year from Amazon. Last month, former global CEO, creative and content, Dick van Motman, also left his role and was replaced by DAN’s global CEO, customer experience and commerce, Jean Lin.
