Dentsu Singapore has promoted Pankaj Nayak to MD, media group, effective immediately. He reports to Prakash Kamdar, CEO of dentsu Singapore and Indonesia, and Prerna Mehrotra, CEO, Media, APAC. Mehrotra, who took on the expanded APAC remit last year, will shift her focus fully towards driving dentsu's global media strategy and delivery in APAC.

In his new role, Nayak is responsible for dentsu Singapore's overall media strategy in driving business growth and excellence for clients. He will also work closely alongside dentsu Singapore's creative and CXM service lines in driving further integration across the business to truly deliver a one dentsu proposition to the market.

Nayak joined dentsu Singapore last year as president, product strategy and delivery, media group, where he has led the enhancement of product offerings in the space of insights, commerce, experience and analytics, as well as the delivery of bespoke commercial solutions for clients. He brings with him over 20 years’ experience in marketing and media across multiple markets in Asia.

Nayak said dentsu's clients are increasingly looking for the right strategic partners who are able to understand the needs of their business against the forces of the media landscape to help them deliver sustainable brand growth at scale.

"In Singapore, we have built a strong team to deliver just that - remarkable future-proof solutions, products and capabilities that can support brand growth and business transformation journeys. I look forward to continue scaling new heights with our media team in Singapore and in synergy with our creative and CXM teams to optimise our one dentsu solution to market," he added.

Kamdar said he is delighted to see dentsu Singapore's media leadership further strengthened with Nayak now helming the Singapore business as Mehrotra shifts full gear into steering its regional media strategy.

"Nayak has contributed significantly to our media business in Singapore since joining dentsu last year, successfully boosting our product and capabilities to ensure quality delivery of services for clients, all while focusing on growing the talents at the heart of our business," he added.

He also thanked Mehrotra for her unwavering commitment to delivering excellence over the past three years in her role as MD, media group, dentsu Singapore, even as she took on the additional remit as CEO of media APAC last year.

"Under her stewardship, our Singapore media business has recorded growth of 50% with over 90% client retention and client satisfaction scores at its highest ever in 2021," he added.

Kamdar also described Mehrotra as "one of [dentsu's] most client-centric leaders in APAC and a strong advocate for the well-being of the pepole. "It has been an honour to have had Mehrotra in our Singapore media leadership seat. With Singapore as a regional hub, I am confident that Nayak will continue to work with Mehrotra in reinforcing a cohesive product strategy and development for our media business in Singapore and the region going forward," he added.

With Singapore being a hub to the APAC region, Mehrotra will continue to be intimately involved with the media team in the market, and in key work for clients and partners led out of Singapore.
