dentsu Group promotes Jean Lin to executive officer to guide sustainable biz solutions

Dentsu Group has named Jean Lin its new executive officer, effective 1 August. Lin will advise and guide the development of dentsu sustainable business solutions which will be at the core of the sustainable client solutions provided across the dentsu Japan network and dentsu international. She is currently global CEO of dentsu international's creative services line, a role she took on in 2019.
According to the agency, this proposition will accelerate client growth by bringing together dentsu's deep understanding of consumers and commitments to society, with creativity and technology, to create an ecosystem of co-creation with clients and partners to drive "growth from good".
In 1999, Lin founded digital agency wwwins Consulting before it was acquired by Aegis Media in 2004. As a result, she became the first head of Isobar's Greater China office. In 2015, she was promoted to global CEO of Isobar and later chief executive chairman in 2020.
President and CEO of dentsu Group, Toshihiro Yamamoto, said the company believes in helping to realise a better society by contributing to the good progress of its clients and their consumers, its partners and its people.
"Dentsu Sustainable Business Solutions is core to delivering on our social commitments and business strategy, and I am delighted Lin’s entrepreneurial spirit, experience in creativity and digital transformation, industry leadership and personal commitment to sustainability will help guide its development," he added.
Her promotion comes shortly after Doug Ray was appointed global chief product officer, media. In this new role, Ray will be responsible for the innovative vision and delivery of the media product roadmap for the dentsu scaled service offering and its media agencies - Carat, iProspect and dentsu X. Ray will also continue in his current role as chief product pfficer, dentsu Americas. He remains based in the US and will be accountable for integrated global products with an increased focused on commercialisation around the world. Ray will now sit on the global media leadership team and dual report to Peter Huijboom, global CEO media and Jeff Greenspoon, president – solutions, Americas.
Meanwhile earlier this month, Merlee Jayme was promoted to chief creative officer, Asia Pacific, overseeing its creative and experience agencies in the region. The agencies under her purview include Isobar, dentsumcgarrybowen, and creative agencies under the house of dentsu, such as dentsu One, dentsu Webchutney and Taproot dentsu. At the time of promotion, it was said that she reports to Lin and Ashish Bhasin, CEO, dentsu Asia Pacific.
