Dentsu Aegis hires former UM APAC president Henry Tajer to lead ANZ ops

Dentsu Aegis Network has appointed Henry Tajer as Australia and New Zealand's chief executive officer. He will start from 18 February, and was previously Amazon's managing director, media services. Tajer brings with him over two decades of experience spanning across media, creative and digital services. He has held leadership roles in IPG Mediabrands as its global CEO in 2015, and then as global chief operating officer. He was also APAC president at Universal McCann between 2004 to 2008. Dentsu Aegis Network APAC CEO, Nick Waters said, “I am delighted to bring Henry into the group. We have a large and diverse business across Australia and New Zealand which requires the high calibre leadership that Henry will provide. “An exceptional operator, Tajer’s appointment will reinforce our leadership position as we enable our clients and staff to navigate the complexities of a rapidly changing market.” Incoming DAN ANZ CEO, Tajer, said, “I'm really excited to join the Dentsu Aegis Network and team. The opportunity to be part of a diverse, progressive and agile organisation like DAN was one I couldn't resist. I can't wait to get to know the team and work with our clients to enjoy shared success moving forward. The Australian advertising market is one of the most exciting in the world. I feel very lucky to be a part of it.” Meanwhile, Waters is set to move to London, also in February to take on the role of executive chairman of Dentsu Aegis Network UK and Ireland. Dentsu Aegis Network appointed Takaki Hibino as executive chairman of Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific.  Hibino’s experience spans over 35 years at Dentsu Inc. during this time he managed major global clients such as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Shiseido, and was appointed executive officer of Dentsu Inc. in 2014.
