DDB Singapore MD Melvin Kuek exits agency

DDB managing director Melvin Kuek is leaving his role after approximately three years with the company. Kuek joined DDB in 2016, along with JWT ECD Chris Chiu, who helmed the chief creative officer role. The duo joined the agency following the departure of previous managing director Rowena Bhagchandani and Joji Jacob, group ECD.
Both DDB and Kuek did not respond at the time of writing.
Prior to his stint with DDB, Kuek was also the managing director of Y&R Singapore - which has since merged with VML to evolve into VMLY&R. He held the role over four years and before that he was chief client officer at Y&R. He also worked as GM for The Gate Worldwide and had previous tenures as group account director at TBWA and account manager to regional account director at DDB.
Last year, Tribal Worldwide/ DDB Group took home top honours at last year's MARKies Awards and was the clear winner for the “Overall Creative Ideas MARKie” having bagged a total of 5 gold, 5 silver, 5 bronze mostly on creative campaigns in partnership with brands such as Changi Airport Group, DBS Bank, ExxonMobil Asia Pacific, Manulife, McDonald’s Singapore, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and more on its belt.
