DDB Group Singapore has named Vinod Savio (pictured) as its new chief creative officer (CCO), effective 16 October. Savio's appointment marks a significant strategic move to elevate DDB's creative prowess and technological capabilities, the agency said in a statement.

As the former executive creative director at advertising agency Toaster, Savio's track record in driving innovation is well-established. Under his leadership, Toaster grew its presence across the APAC region, expanding its creative and digital footprint across Southeast Asia and India.

Savio returns to DDB following a prior eight-year long tenure at DDB from 2009 to 2017. At the time, Savio served as creative lead for regional and global accounts including Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, and McDonald's Regional.

Some of his career highlights at DDB during that time was launching several national campaigns for the Health Promotion Board, developing the first regional mobile app for McDonald's and creating a Facebook app for Cisco.

Savio has helmed leadership roles in agencies such as McCann Erickson, Ogilvy & Mather, Grey Worldwide and JWT.

In his new role as CCO, Savio will lead the development of next-generation creative skills, expand DDB's regional client base, and solidify Singapore's position as a hub for global clients.

Savio's appointment underscores DDB's commitment to harnessing emerging technologies, data, social, gaming, and artificial intelligence to create innovative solutions for modern client challenges, said DDB.

The appointment comes shortly after DDB Group HK names new regional executive creative director with the hire of Alejandro Canciobello, in the role of regional executive creative director.

In his new position, Canciobello will be responsible for creative development for clients with multi-market needs, reporting directly to CEO, Andreas Krasser. DDB HK told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that there are no specific markets under Canciobello's role as it depends on client needs.
