Luxury fashion house Chanel’s head of marketing of fragrance and beauty products for Hong Kong and Macau Fiona Tin (pictured) has departed after four years.

In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Tin said she has decided to take some time to recharge and explore new opportunities for growth after almost five years with Chanel.

“At this stage, I’m embracing a Da Capo moment—a time to pause, reflect, and recharge before starting anew. While I can’t disclose specifics just yet, this period is about aligning my next steps with my values and long-term aspirations.”

The Italian phrase Da Capo refers to "from the beginning", that's why Tin believes in taking a break and start a new chapter. “As I shared in my TEDx talk back in May 2024, I believe in the importance of Da Capo - a fresh restart guided by past wisdom. Within this cycle, we must prioritise rest, allowing ourselves time to recharge and return with renewed energy',” she added.

Tin has more than 20 years of experience across marketing, advertising, beauty, jewelry and luxury watches. She joined Chanel in 2020 as its senior marketing manager for Hong Kong and Macau.

Before joining Chanel, she was leading the marketing and communications department in the global head office of TimeVallée – a unique retail concept in multi-brand luxury watch distribution, fully owned by Richemont, working closely with five retail partners and 21 luxury Maisons, including Bulgari, Cartier, Chopard, Hermès and Rolex in China, Korea and Spain.

Don't miss: Chanel highlights importance of audacity with new campaign

Back in April 2024, Chanel unveiled a new campaign to highlight the importance of audacity. Featuring its ambassador Penélope Cruz and cult actor Brad Pitt, the campaign pays tribute to the iconic film A Man and A Woman, which explores one of life's greatest emotions: falling in love.

With this global campaign, Chanel continues to build on its longstanding relationship with cinema. Virginie Viard, the creative director of Chanel and artistic director of the fashion collections, has always found inspiration in the seventh art.

The campaign photographed and directed by Inez & Vinoodh repeats almost word for word, shot by shot, some of the film's original sequences, with Cruz, a living legend of the film world and Chanel ambassador since 2018, as well as Pitt, a cult actor who embodies the somewhat daunted, blushing man.

Titled “The iconic handbag”, the video ad features the man and the woman placing the iconic Chanel bag on the table which symbolises everything that gives oneself the courage to assert one’s deepest desires.
