BBDO Malaysia makes senior hires

BBDO Malaysia has hired Anirban Ganguly as head of innovation and strategy and Adrian Cheah as client service director. It will also be promoting John Teoh up as general manager, effective immediately.Ganguly brings seventeen years of working experience to BBDO and has worked with multinational agencies in Asia like DDB, Leo Burnett, Lowe, Omnicom Media Group, Havas Worldwide.He has also worked on brands including McDonald’s, HSBC, Citibank, Sara Lee, Johnson & Johnson, and Standard Chartered Bank to name a few. Ganguly will lead his team in designing brand experiences based on idea-centric media neutral thinking, that fuels business growth and brand advocacy.Cheah joins BBDO Malaysia from Geometry Global where he was overseeing the Guinness Anchor Berhad, URC Snack foods (Jack n’ Jill), Castrol and Maxis accounts. He was with JWT Kuala Lumpur in 2011 where he led a team on the Nokia, Ford Motor Company (E&G) and the Shell Lubricants Malaysia business.Cheah takes over John Teoh’s previous role, sharing his nine years’ of advertising experience in campaign development, market integration, ATL/BTL advertising, digital and activation with his new team at BBDO.With Cheah’s new order, Teoh moves up as general manager after coming aboard BBDO’s team initially as group account director in 2011. Teoh was forefronting the Hotlink account and handled business-building programmes at BBDO.His 20 year experience is attributed to his time in Bates working on established brands, and at Euro RSCG Malaysia where he helped the business grow by leaps and bounds, winning big accounts like Carlsberg, Great Eastern, Microsoft, Chevrolet and many more.BBDO Malaysia’s managing director, Michelle Achuthan, said, “BBDO is driven by a passionate team and individuals like Ganguly and Cheah are just the people we need to lead us. Together with John and BBDO executive creative director CK Tan, they will steer us in the direction BBDO needs to be in. I am enamoured by the dedication and success they have given us so far.”
