BBDO Greater China has appointed Travis Wu (pictured) as the new executive creative director (ECD) in Shanghai, further strengthening the agency's expertise in digital and social marketing.

The appointment comes as BBDO is adapting to shifting market demands by expanding its business focus beyond traditional creative and strategies. This strategic shift has led to significant growth in recent years, prompting the need for exceptional talents from diverse fields at BBDO Greater China.

Wu's expertise lies in utilising digital technology and platform features to discover the most effective ways to engage with consumers, ultimately helping brands maximise their value.

With two decades of experience in the advertising creative field, Wu has held positions at various agencies. According to the release, he has successfully crafted multiple campaigns for global brands, including McDonald's, Budweiser, Mercedes-Benz, whiskey brands, and fast-moving consumer goods.

Beck You, CEO, BBDO Greater China, said: "Moving forward, we will uphold a stance of innovation and evolution, offering a range of integrated services including strategy, creativity, social media management, PR, SCRM, and community operations. I am pleased to welcome Wu to our team. His inclusion will enhance our service offerings, bolster our competitiveness in the field of comprehensive advertising communication, and deliver more comprehensive and professional services to our clients."

Arthur Tsang, chief creative officer, BBDO Greater China, said: “With exceptional insights and a diverse creative background, Wu is perfectly equipped to deepen the capabilities we offer our clients. His track record of building stories that resonate with consumers and evoke a deep connection, no matter the medium, made him one of our top targets. His presence undoubtedly infuses our creative management team with fresh inspiration and dynamism."

"I am deeply honoured and thrilled to be part of this team. The team members come from various backgrounds and professional fields, providing me with the opportunity to work alongside a group of talented creatives and tackle a wider range of diverse and challenging new business ventures. I am also eager to utilise my expertise in digital and social marketing to collaborate with everyone in crafting more uniquely creative brand communication strategies,” Wu said.
