Wunderman Thompson Singapore has appointed Jaimesha Patel (pictured left) as managing partner, client services and Mark Teal (pictured right) as head of growth. The newly created roles come as part of the agency's growth plans for 2022. In their new appointments, Patel and Teal will both report to CEO Nimesh Desai. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out for additional information.
As managing partner, client services, Patel is responsible for leading the account team to drive growth for local clients as well as leading the Johnson & Johnson’s account regionally. Prior to joining Wunderman Thomson, Patel led the regional hub for RAPP, a digital experience, CRM and creative consultancy brand under Omnicom. Some of RAPP's clients include American Family Insurance, Cinemark, Pepsi, Samsung Innova, Toyota and Virgin Media. In response to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, RAPP said that it will announce Patel's replacement in early January next year.
Patel also brings with her over 15 years of industry experience, having worked with global and local clients across a range of verticals including technology, oil and gas, high-end luxury fashion, real estate, healthcare and sports. "With our core and ever-evolving strengths in creative, data and technology, Wunderman Thompson is well-positioned to deliver consumer-focused business solutions for brands," Patel said.
She works alongside Teal who, as head of growth, is tasked with leading growth in the agency’s martech category both through new business and partnerships. Teal was formerly general manager at startup data analytics consultancy Mezzo Labs. Prior to that, he was head of business development, ASEAN at Digitas. He was also previously business director at Ogilvy for close to seven years. Teal brings with him 19 years of experience, having led key regional accounts, run consumer businesses, and achieved new business wins.
Teal said that Wunderman Thompson’s ability to marry eCommerce, CRM, marketing, and customer insights, puts it in a unique position to help companies grow their market share and profits. "I look forward to bringing our expertise together to help ensure success for all our clients," he added.
Meanwhile, Desai said that the agency has been relatively quiet in the press throughout 2021, outside of new hires, but had a stellar year between new business wins and creative awards. "Bringing on Patel and Teal further signifies our commitment to our clients and people alike; of our ambitions to remain on this same trajectory into 2022 and beyond. Not only will Patel and Teal bring their diverse experience and strategic knowledge to drive genuine business growth for our clients, but their fresh perspective and empathetic leadership will also serve as a spark of inspiration for our office,” he added.
The new appointments in Singapore by Wunderman Thompson comes a day after it appointed James Hammond as head of healthcare, APAC - another newly created role. The new position reflects the agency's growing presence in the health industry in APAC. Hammond will be based in Hong Kong. It also promoted Ewen Sturgeon, CEO, EMEA, to CEO, international in September this year, after former international CEO Annette Male left to join Facebook as its APAC agency development lead. In his new role, Sturgeon takes on additional responsibility for the agency's Asia Pacific operations.
