Global brand experience agency VMLY&R has appointed industry veteran Yupin Muntzing as CEO of Thailand market. Based in Bangkok, Muntzing will be responsible for overseeing the growth of VMLY&R’s business and operations in Thailand, as well as offer holistic business solutions to clients across the country. Reporting to VMLY&R Asia co-CEO Tripti Lochan, Muntzing takes over the CEO leadership position from Trong Tantivejakul, VMLY&R Thailand chief creative officer, who assumed the role of interim CEO, following the departure of Ketchayong Skowratananont in December last year.
With 25 years of experience, Muntzing’s knowledge in omni-channel communication – from ATL, BTL, digital marketing, shopper marketing, experiential and event activation, will aid her in leading VMLY&R’s Thailand office, a regional centre of excellence for creative content and data for VMLY&R Asia. Her role as CEO includes working to build and develop the agency’s client service offerings.
Previously, Muntzing was the CEO of McCann Worldgroup for five years. Her role comprised overseeing the group’s operations in Thailand, across its McCann, MRM, CommonWealth and CRAFT disciplines. Prior to this, Muntzing was director at Muntzing Agency, an agency she founded in 2013, while simultaneously acting as managing director for Geometry Global, WPP’s shopper marketing and activation agency.
Trong said Muntzing was “an excellent fit for VMLY&R”, adding that she looked forward to working with her to grow the business in Thailand, while continuing to deliver “impactful standout work for clients”.
Lochan, co-CEO for VMLY&R Asia said the company was delighted to welcome Muntzing to the VMLY&R family in Thailand as the newest member of the VMLY&R Asia regional management team. “Muntzing's expertise, strategic prowess and market know-how will be a tremendous asset to the team and their clients, as we create truly connected brands using the weaponry in our arsenal – data, commerce, technology, digital – all enveloped in meaningful brand experiences that impact the world,” she added.
Meanwhile Muntzing said she was excited to drive the VMLY&R business in Thailand, adding that the agency stood at the intersection of digital innovation, creativity and data and insights. “I look forward to bringing these capabilities together to provide clients with unparalleled offerings, while upholding VMLY&R Thailand’s reputation as a powerhouse of innovation and creativity,” she added.
