Valentino Beauty has opened its first store in the world at Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, showcasing its plan to expand business in Asia. The store opened on 5 August with its design incorporating traditional haute couture into innovative makeup.
According to multiple media outlets, the launch of Valentino Beauty Hong Kong will be followed by a second store in Hainan. Moreover, the Hong Kong store focuses on sustainability and O+O retail strategy. Reports cited Eva Yu, president and managing director of L’Oreal Hong Kong stating that Valentino Beauty’s strategic decision was to open its first beauty boutique worldwide in Hong Kong, which also demonstrated the brand’s confidence in the Hong Kong market.
She added that Valentino Beauty offers customers unique beauty products and experiences. In addition, the brand’s focus on sustainability echoes L’Oreìal Groupe’s global sustainability commitment, as well as its and our commitment to driving green beauty in Hong Kong.
Featuring pink walls and floor, the design of the store highlighted the Valentino's signature red to demonstrate its identity. To increase flexibility, the store's display modules are buildable grids that can be easily disassembled and redesigned to better meet the needs of displaying various merchandise and avoid waste.
Another measure to help protect the environment is its QR codes, which allow customers visiting the boutique to scan each product and they will find more information and tips on applications, make-up demo and complete their purchase online. The store does not use paper wrapping and offer reusable shopping bag too. This is also in line with the digital savvy consumer base in the Hong Kong market.
Meanwhile, prior to the opening, Valentino beauty boutique has invited two members of boyband MIRROR, including Lokman Yeung and Tiger Yau, fashion influencer Char1es and signer Sophy Wong to visit the store.
