Uplive makes the metaverse more accessible with voice-chat LiveAI

Asia Innovations Group (ASIG) has announced the launch of a voice chat version of LiveAI on its Uplive social entertainment platform, allowing users to ask avatars questions via voice chat and gain insights real-time. The new feature elevates the interactive and engaging social experience for Uplive users, advancing ASIG's journey into the metaverse, according to a statement by the company.

The new launch comes as part of ASIG's ongoing commitment to developing and adopting the latest technological advancements. In a white paper released by ASIG through The Economist in 2022, the company pointed out that the pandemic has expanded the digital divide, particularly between rich and developing countries. ASIG believes that by closing the digital divide, the metaverse can aid a large number of people at the bottom of the income scale. To support this, the metaverse must be open to all users, supporting variety and inclusivity. The Uplive Avatar was built by ASIG as an example of an accessible on-ramp to the metaverse: for anyone, from anywhere, using only a basic smartphone.

This is not the first foray into AI from the brand. In April, ASIG announced the integration of its latest GPT4-enhanced LiveAI feature into Uplive, where users can access an AI-enabled avatar that can be used in a variety of ways to enhance their platform experiences. These avatars can serve as personal assistants, providing users with resources and insights for personal development and interpersonal communication. Furthermore, LiveAI has significant educational potential, making it easier to effectively disseminate knowledge and skills.

LiveAI, powered by leading artificial intelligence-generated content (AIGC) technology, is reshaping user connections by providing unique LiveAI social scenarios tailored to global audiences, covering a wide range of topics such as liberal arts, geography, culture, and lifestyle. The Uplive AI Avatar is now available in 17 countries and regions across five continents, with over 15 languages supported. Unique, culturally inspired AI Avatars have been created for countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, Arab nations, and India.

According to the company, Uplive AI Avatars “provide seamless, logical, and in-depth interactions to users worldwide in their preferred languages, thanks to GPT-4's advanced large language models (LLM) and real-time text-to-speech capabilities”. Furthermore, these virtual characters have realistic facial expressions and body language, greeting users warmly and engaging in lively banter.

Commenting on the innovation, Ouyang Yun, chairman and CEO at ASIG, said, "With this innovation, the future is now. The introduction of Live AI avatars, which can assist, teach, and connect with our users, is all a part of our larger goal of continuously innovating to better suit the ever-evolving demands of users."
