Teh was instrumental in several key developments, including the launch of Pulau Andaman township in Penang where she achieved gross development value close to RM700 million upon. This is on top of overseeing other notable projects during her tenure, added the statement.

"We are delighted to welcome Emily to the UEM Sunrise’s team. Her expertise will be instrumental in advancing our marketing objectives and further strengthening our brand position in the industry,” said UEM Sunrise chief executive officer Sufian Abdullah.

“Her contribution is crucial to our transformation journey focusing on customer centricity, operational excellence and high growth culture, all of which are pivotal in engaging our customer better through a robust sales and marketing plan," added Sufian.

Teh's appointment comes as Kenny Wong (pictured right) steps down after six years at the developer. Wong's last day was 30 June 2024. In conversation with A+M, Wong said he is retiring and taking the opportunity to regain his fitness levels and take a trip around Malaysia.

"It really been an amazing six years with UEM Sunrise - major kudos to the board, management, staff and of course my team there - but of course no career is without its challenges. Take the pandemic, for instance, which hit everyone hard, but especially the property industry in particular," said Wong in a statement.

As UEM Sunrise's chief marketing officer, Wong transformed the brand's marketing into a digitally driven one and delivered enhanced marketing effectiveness through significant enhancements of the corporate website from an informational to a transactional website.

Under Wong's guidance, UEM Sunrise implemented aggressive and relevant social media engagement that enhanced brand awareness and one-on-one customer management throughout the home-buying journey.

Prior to joining UEM Sunrise, Wong was the head of marketing and sales at GuocoLand and served as AirAsia's group head of ancillary and country head of commercial. He previously took on the role of chief executive officer at TGV Cinemas and chief marketing officer at Packet One Networks too.
