Toys “R” Us Asia’s Sidhanth Gopishetty (pictured) is stepping down from his role as regional general manager of marketing, customer engagement and communications. He will leave the firm after the first week of October.
In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Gopishetty said having been with Toys "R" Us for six years and having set up and grown the team with many achievements, he is now looking to take on new challenges with expanded scope in different organisations. “I was also looking for more alignment between my personal career goals and the organisation,” he added.
Moving on, Gopishetty said he will spend some quality time with his newborn son. “Through my notice period I will continue to look for leadership opportunities within Hong Kong and Asia. With well over a decade of experience in developing marketing strategy and managing brands across Asia, I am confident I'll find a suitable fit with the right organisation soon,” he added.
He also expressed his gratitude to his team on his LinkedIn post, “We’ve achieved great things together. Stay Awesome! And to the leaders that steered our brand through all the highs and lows over the past six years – thank you for your support, encouragement, and many learnings.”
Gopishetty is a seasoned leader with over 15 years of global experience in multiple marketing and brand management functions across the retail, consumer goods and technology industries. He has been leading marketing for Toys “R” Us across 550 stores and nine eCommerce sites in Japan, Greater China and Southeast Asia.
Prior to Toys "R" Us, he was with Fung Retailing Group and was instrumental in building the partnership between Kent & Curwen and David Beckham.
