Sweetshop China promotes Catherine Law to China MD role

Sweetshop China has promoted Catherina Law (pictured) to managing director of its operation in China. She replaces Laura Geagea, who has been elevated to regional managing director of Sweetshop China, Asia and Middle East and North Africa. Law will be based in Shanghai.
Prior to the new role, Law previously worked as a senior executive producer with more than 15 years’ experience across agencies, production houses and cost consulting. She has cooperated with global brands such as Sprite, Cathay Pacific, Vidal Sassoon, OPPO, Carlsberg, Ferrero Rocher.
“Law started working alongside Geagea and the China team shortly after we opened the Shanghai office in 2017. It was immediately evident that she has the ability to play a leading role in providing creative production solutions to our clients and agencies across Mainland China. We recognise the enormous potential in the market and I am thrilled Catherine has agreed to lead us here in our continued growth,” said Wilf Sweetland, global CEO of Sweetshop.
Law has worked with global advertising agencies and production houses including Leo Burnett Guangzhou, Ogilvy & Mather Beijing, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Cheil China and Good People Basically.A HK native, Law ran the music desk at HKCable TV, worked on films and produced commercial work on both production and agency sides throughout Asia-Pacific and Mainland China.
“Law is without a doubt the best person for the job and I am thrilled she has agreed to lead our business and our people in China. She has heart and is totally invested in the work we produce, our team, as well as our brand and agency partners," said Geagea.
The objective of Law’s promotion is driving Sweetshop China as one of the international production companies to operate out of Shanghai producing content to an international standard, as well as having an intimate understanding of local brands and agencies.
