Thinking of using AI generated video content? Well, it might cost you.
Google has now shared its pricing of Veo 2, a video-generating AI model and has said it will cost US$0.50 for every second, which adds up for US$30.00 per minute. Contrasting it with blockbuster Marvel movie “Avengers: Endgame”, Google DeepMind researcher Jon Barron said the movie had a production budget of US$356 million, which comes down to US$32,000 per second.
For those who aren’t aware, Veo 2 is Google’s latest AI-powered text-to-video generation model. The tool allows users to create videos tailored to their specific needs by simply providing a short description. Some of the key features include videos rendered in 1080p resolution, making them ideal for professional use, extended duration and customisable styes and content.
Earlier this month, Google released Gemini 2.0 which it deemed its “most capable” artificial intelligence model suite yet to the public after giving access to trusted developers and tester.
“Over the last year, we have been investing in developing more agentic models, meaning they can understand more about the world around you, think multiple steps ahead, and take action on your behalf, with your supervision,” Google wrote in a December blog post, adding that Gemini 2.0 has “new advances in multimodality — like native image and audio output — and native tool use”.
