Sunshine Bakeries partners with Sangkaya ice cream for promo of new product

Sunshine Bakeries Malaysia is collaborating with local ice cream brand Sangkaya to introduce a limited-edition Roti Pandan ice cream as part of its marketing plan to promote its new homestyle pandan bread. The bread is inspired by the aroma of in the Southeast Asian region, and is a huge part of Southeast Asian cooking.
The CEO of Sunshine Bread, Michael Chew said that the team is excited to introduce the bread with its signature local taste that Malaysians are bound to enjoy. “True to Sunshine Bakeries’ commitment to ensuring nutrition in every bite, our consumers can look forward to a high protein, high calcium and high iron option with our pandan Bread while still enjoying the nostalgic aromatic flavours of the pandan,” he added.
The use of ice creams as a marketing tactic is slowly gaining prominence. In March this year, Cebu Pacific Air collaborated with Melbourne-based ice cream brand Manila St to create a new ice cream flavour to celebrate the resumption of its Melbourne-Manila route in a delicious way. According to a post on Instagram by the brand Manila St, there is also be a social execution as part of the new relationship where consumers can stand a chance to win return flights from Melbourne to Manila.
In Singapore, electricity retailer Geneco recently partnered with local ice cream shop Apiary to launch an exclusive ice cream flavour. This exclusive calamansi lime flavour is carbon neutral certified by purchasing carbon credits for the emissions produced during the production process.
