Taiwan-based airline Starlux is introducing a one-day Snoopy-themed “TramOramic” experience in Hong Kong to celebrate its newly opened Taipei-Hong Kong route.

Featuring the cabin crew, tram passengers will have a chance to be served by flight attendants of Starlux on 20 July. A launch ceremony was also held on 3 July at the Whitty Street Tram Depot in Sai Wan as part of the celebration of the new route.

The "TramOramic" experience will bring in-flight food and beverage hospitality to the iconic 1920s-style open-top tram sightseeing tour. Passengers will also be able to take home exclusive gifts and a commemorative travel pass.

Furthermore, riding on the partnership between Starlux and Peanuts, the global character brand for Snoopy, the Snoopy-themed tram will be available until the end of September. The company also appeals local citizens to post Instagram reels to attract more tourists from Taiwan.

"Our company launched in 2018, and following the pandemic, we've only continued to grow," Tony Cho, the Mainland China chief representative and Hong Kong branch general manager of Starlux, told local news such as RTHK, "We hope to eventually offer five roundtrips per day."

Cho also said the coming year is the right time to boost passenger flight frequency as Chek Lap Kok's third runway comes into full operation.

Nixon Cheung, the tram operator's head of commercial and brand, HK Tramways, said the company has seen a surge in passengers in recent years. "We do have a great rebound during the past years, especially when we have many free ride days, that catered to a lot of customers, especially tourists flying from all over the world."

Starlux Airlines is a Taiwanese full-service carrier headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, which operated its first flight from Taipei to Macau on 23 January 2020.

The airlines’ first flights between Hong Kong and Taipei will take off on 16 July. Starlux will initially offer two roundtrip flights per day from Taiwan to Hong Kong. The A350 and A330 wide-body aircraft will be deployed into service, Starlux’s Instagram post said.
