Spotify celebrates K-Pop fans’ passion with personality quiz

Spotify has launched a new interactive experience to celebrate K-Pop fans and their passion for the genre. It comes as Spotify has observed a significant surge in K-Pop streams, with an increase of more than 180% in the United States, over 420% in Southeast Asia, and over 360% globally.

Available until 10 May, the experience named “Your K-Pop Persona” is a five-question-based personality quiz to evaluate participants' suitable role in a K-Pop band based on their hobbies and personal preferences.

When participants enter the experience, they will be asked five questions about the way they stand to help determine what their role might be in a K-Pop group. Inspired by the roles usually assigned to group members, participants could be a main visual, a main vocal, a main rapper, a main dancer, or a trainee.

Any interested K-Pop fan, regardless of whether they are a regular Spotify user, can access the personality quiz on the dedicated website on mobile service. They may answer five questions about how they stand to receive their main roles in the K-Pop fandom. Meanwhile, Spotify users will also unlock a bonus fan role based on their K-Pop listening habits.

To facilitate a user-friendly experience, Spotify has provided a personalised result photocard to all fans afterwards, allowing customisation before sharing it and comparing different results on social media.

According to the release, Spotify's flagship playlist K-Pop ON! (온)has amassed nearly 5.4 million saves by Spotify users. Listeners can also merge their music tastes with some of K-Pop’s biggest stars through its "Blend" feature. In recent years, Spotify teamed up with groups such as NewJeans, BTS and BLACKPINK to create installations, pop-ups, and interactive experiences, aiming to bring K-Pop devotees closer to the artists and music they love.
