Hysan Development Company has teamed up with Lee Gardens Association to launch a large-scale skateboarding festival to promote the culture of "skateboarding" in the hope of bringing further positivity to the community.

Done in collaboration with All Hong Kong Skateboards Association (AHKSA) and youth charity KELY Support Group, the annual skateboard festival will be held from 26 to 27 November at the driveway of Lee Garden One and Pak Sha Road. It is an annual event for the second year in a row that aims to promote local skateboarding culture, as well as to connect people and events in the city to create community values.

The theme of the festival will be centred on tricks and techniques. There will be a series of street skateboarding performances, skateboarding and street culture performances, and hands-on workshops for visitors to learn about skateboarding and street culture. Moreover, 16 local skateboarders and 12 kids skateboarders will be invited to showcase their skateboarding skills.

Apart from skateboarding, the two-day event will also feature a series of street performances including street dance, freestyle football, and a special juggling performance by KELY Support Group, to promote sports and street performances with positive vibes.

The outdoor carnival will see a wide range of workshops including fingerboard, T-shirt-making, bag graffiti, skateboard design and Henna hand painting. They will be provided for participants to experience the unique appeal of street culture firsthand.  Pop-up stores and food trucks will also be available during the festival.

Furthermore, AHKSA and KELY Support Group have also partnered to to hold charity skateboard experience classes that aim to help participants learn more about the skateboarding culture and experience the fun of skateboarding under the guidance of professional skateboard instructors. According to the release, all proceeds from the course will go to KELY Support Group to support the development of local youth, after deducting the registration fee.

Back in August 2022, Lee Gardens partnered with One Bite Design Studio for “gLEEful rooftop” project to recreate children's games. A series of events and programs such as music shows, sports and exercise workshops, mindfulness and meditation activities, community photography, arts and cultural events were held.
