Singtel and GOJEK have inked a partnership to offer mobile, ride-hailing and lifestyle services to both customers and driver-partners. From May 2019, both companies will roll out initiatives to cross-market these offerings. As part of the partnership, GOJEK driver-partners who subscribe to a Singtel Combo plan will be able to receive data-free usage when using their GOJEK app. GOJEK driver-partners will also receive a 20% discount on Singtel Combo plans, complimentary caller-ID service, and preferential rates on Singtel’s range of content and lifestyle services. This comes in line with GOJEK’s mission to lower the operating costs for its driver-partners and provide them with better earnings stability. It also marks the latest benefit under GoalBetter, GOJEK’s dedicated benefits programme for driver-partners in Singapore, which currently features insurance, medical teleconsultation and fuel rebates. Meanwhile, according to Singtel, its customers will soon receive special privileges on GOJEK’s ride-hailing services. New and existing customers of Singtel’s latest all-digital mobile plan, GOMO (Get Out More Often), are also said to each receive GOJEK ride-hailing credits worth SG$5, which can be activated using a unique code. Other ride-hailing perks from GOJEK will also be extended to all Singtel customers, the statement added. Yuen Kuan Moon, CEO, consumer Singapore, Singtel, said with this partnership with GOJEK, the telco is taking its business and customer relationships to the next level, beyond just providing traditional carriage and connectivity. "While our customers have come to expect reliable and comprehensive mobile coverage from us, they are always looking for more value and this we can extend in the form of perks and privileges that come from mutually-beneficial partnerships," he added. “Singaporeans are living and playing harder - whether online or offline. This is why the partnership between GOJEK and Singtel really works. As Singtel delivers our online and lifestyle needs through mobile and data, GOJEK gets us to places, parties and professional engagements, speedily and safely!” newly appointed Lien Choong Luen, general manager of GOJEK Singapore said. The ride-hailing company recently collaborated with Doctor Anywhere and Gigacover to offer medical consultation services and prolonged medical insurance to its driver-partners as part of its strategy to boost the well-being of driver-partners. It also brought onboard Esso to provide its drivers with competitive fuel rebates. GOJEK has an ongoing partnership with DBS Bank, inking a deal prior to its launch in 2018. It currently works with Havas Media for media, BLK J for creative and Ogilvy for social communications and PR duties.
