ShopBack Singapore has appointed local celebrity Annette Lee (pictured) as its brand ambassador. Fern Nannaphat, country manager, ShopBack Singapore told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that Lee’s personable nature and her relatability to audiences in Singapore are widely known by the general public.
Additionally, Lee understood the true value of ShopBack, being a fervent ShopBack user herself. “As such, with our latest introduction of ShopBack Pay, we are absolutely excited to have Lee come onboard with us and look forward to seeing what more she can do to benefit from the myriad of cashback offers available at offline merchants,” Nannaphat said.
ShopBack has declined to disclose the monetary value of the ambassadorship. While ShopBack was unable to delve into the details of Lee's ambassadorship, Nannaphat said that it is planning to launch an upcoming content series with Lee in the coming months.
Separately, ShopBack witnessed a slew of appointments this year. Last month, ShopBack has appointed Jeremy Lim as its head of marketing, Singapore. Lim currently manages a team of 21 people across ShopBack's online affiliate and the recently launched in-store payment feature. He reports directly to Fern Nannaphat, country general manager, Singapore. Lim was formerly country manager at YouTrip for over a year, and previously took on the roles of head of marketing and marketing manager in the company.
Last month also saw the appointment of Aik-Phong Ng as managing director, to spearhead the rollout of ShopBack In-Store and ShopBack Pay in Thailand, Taiwan and Australia. In his role, Ng is responsible for driving merchant adoption and forging strategic partnerships in these two product lines. According to ShopBack then, Ng's appointment comes after the group's foray into the fintech and payments space. During his previous tenure MD at Fave SEA, Ng led the launch and scaling of FavePay and FavePay Later across Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
