Hong Kong-based Rosewood Hotels Group has unveiled its plans to expand its portfolio with new properties in China, Japan, the Netherlands, Qatar, Mexico, the UK and US.

These developments emphasise the group's strong presence in key markets globally while maintaining a steadfast dedication to providing unparalleled luxury lifestyle hospitality to guests around the world, according to the release.

Aiming to build a future where people and places enrich one another, the group currently has over 30 properties under development worldwide. Each property’s location and developer are evaluated through the lens of a core principle of inspiring discovery and deepening connections with local culture and heritage, according to the release.

Among the planned developments is Rosewood Miyakojima in Japan, which aims to be a retreat emphasising local craftsmanship with innovative design. It creates a destination that immerses guests in the island’s essence through exclusive, sustainable, and community-driven experiences, blending nature and culture to differentiate itself from conventional Japanese tourist spots.

Buoyed by an increase in domestic tourism and a growing demand for new experiences, New World Tongpai Hotels Group, a joint venture between New World Hotels and Resorts and Rezen Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trip.com Group, is also adding a new property to the brand portfolio in China. The upper-upscale hotel brand aims to officially launch the New World Jinzhou Hotel in the second quarter of this year. This highlights the brand’s confidence in the market and its commitment to delivering contemporary accommodations to the new generation of modern business and leisure travellers, according to the release.

Meanwhile, Rosewood Amsterdam, a historical masterpiece situated in the former Palace of Justice, will debut in the Netherlands in June as the latest hotel development housed within a monumental building in the UNESCO-listed Amsterdam Canal District. It aims to offer a unique cultural experience that elegantly combines the rich history of the original building with Rosewood’s signature lifestyle.

With the opening of Rosewood Doha in the second half of this year, the group is also solidifying its strategic expansion into the Middle East. Located in Lusail, Qatar’s “City of the Future”, Rosewood Doha serves as a hub for the culturally curious, inviting guests to discover the soul of Qatar — both its deep-rooted traditions and the dynamism that lies ahead.

Rosewood Mandarina in Mexico will also provide access to both beach and mountain environments, while The Chancery Rosewood in London’s Mayfair seeks to blend the city's historical lineage with modern design innovation. The new expansion will also see the launch of the first standalone Rosewood Residences in Beverly Hills, California, which aims to offer personalised lifestyle options with timeless sophistication.

Overall, Rosewood Hotel Group’s strategic expansions reflect their intention to become a prominent figure in luxury lifestyle hospitality by delivering culturally engaging and authentic travel experiences across diverse global destinations.

In response to the escalating demand for luxury experiences across diverse locations, Rosewood Hotel Group said it is committed to enhancing guest travel through collaborative initiatives and cultural engagement. Each project reflects a commitment to local authenticity, further solidifying the group’s position as a global leader in luxury lifestyle hospitality.

Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer, Rosewood Hotel Group, said: “The launch of new properties in seven countries across three continents is a significant milestone for Rosewood. It exemplifies our devotion to offering thoughtfully curated lifestyle experiences that evoke desire and make a positive impact around the globe.”

“This underscores our quality growth strategy that is deliberately curated, focusing not merely on quantity but on selecting landmark properties that truly embody our brand’s ethos,” she added.
