Leading consultancy firm R3 has hired Priya Jean Alexander (pictured) to the role of senior consultant in its Singapore office. This comes as R3 doubles its media and financial consulting team over the past 12 months, with Alexander being the latest to join the team.
Alexander was previously managing director of PHD Singapore. She brings with her 16 years of strategic business and marketing experience and at R3, she will work across global, local and regional clients. Her agency experience spans three networks and several brands, including Procter & Gamble and Singapore Tourism Board.
The consultancy firm has said that demand for external expertise has increased in line with the growing importance of maintaining transparency and accountability in media and marketing. R3 co-founder and principal, Shufen Goh adds that “to drive development within the business and to ensure that relationships are maintained with agency partners, you need people who inherently understand client goals and how agencies and media work. Alexander is a great example of someone who has that combination of knowledge and practice.”
On her new role, Alexander said “So much has evolved in media but so much has also stayed the same. Marketers have been focused on building products and internal capabilities that help them go to market with speed, but now there is a trend back to understanding the bigger picture, implementing first principles thinking and defining impact. I'm looking forward to working with marketing teams to craft a deeper understanding of the value that the marketing function can deliver to their organisations.”
Last year, R3 also hired Penelope Siraj as principal consultant to lead the company’s media practice across Asia Pacific. Siraj has about 20 years of extensive knowledge of media buying, planning, research, and digital to drive best practices for clients. Much like Alexander, she was most recently at PHD as group business director, delivering growth, client satisfaction, and globally awarded campaigns for brands across technology, automotive, insurance, travel, B2B and FMCG. She has also worked with the likes of Zenith and Starcom.
R3 has in recent times, worked with many notable clients out of Asia. Some of the recent pitches it has handled in Southeast Asia include Sentosa, Whole of Government Singapore, Singtel, Samsung, KFC, Pepsi and L'Oreal. Global clients include Standard Chartered, FedEx, Asics, Scholl and many others.
