R/GA has appointed Guill Rodas as chief technology officer for APAC, as the agency sharpens its focus on AI-native solutions and tech-enabled creative work across the region.

Rodas will work alongside Ben Miles, chief design officer for APAC, to unify R/GA’s technology practice across Southeast Asia, North Asia, and Australia. He will lead the development of AI-driven capabilities in partnership with global chief technology officer Nick Coronges.

The appointment is part of R/GA’s push to modernise its offering under its new independent model, with Rodas tasked with scaling bespoke projects into reusable IP and tech frameworks.

Rodas brings more than 15 years of experience blending creativity with engineering. He began his career as a graphic designer and front-end developer, before stepping into technology leadership roles at Deloitte Digital, VERSA and Isobar. Most recently, he was director and national head of front-end engineering at Deloitte Digital, where he led digital builds for clients such as Mecca, Toyota and NAB.

“R/GA has always been at the forefront of combining creativity and technology to drive impact,” said Rodas. “I’m excited to carry that forward, creating a more connected, future-ready technology practice that empowers our teams and clients across the region.”

“In our new independent model, R/GA is supercharging our technology capabilities to support client growth and accelerate our offerings. Guill will be a crucial leader as we chart this course in APAC and across the R/GA network," added Coronges.

Rodas’ appointment comes as R/GA enters a new chapter of independence, following a private equity-backed buyout from IPG after 23 years. Now led by CEO Robin Forbes and chair Tiffany Rolfe, the agency has partnered with Truelink Capital to regain its autonomy and reshape its business around AI-driven innovation.

The move positions R/GA as one of the largest independent creative agencies globally, with a US$50 million Innovation Fund earmarked for emerging tech, acquisitions, and capability-building. The agency is also rolling out structural shifts including new remuneration models and a flexible talent network, as it aims to move beyond traditional marketing efficiency and unlock AI’s creative potential for brands.
