Advisory and tax services company PwC has launched an Asia Pacific Marketplace, a digital ecosystem where their clients can explore digital solutions, built by PwC and its alliance partners, for business issues such as cybersecurity, data and analytics, digital transformation, ESG, organisational effectiveness, risk management, tax and upskilling.

The system is the first of its kind in the region which is currently being rolled out in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam with other territories soon to follow.

“The launch of PwC’s Asia Pacific Marketplace demonstrates the power of working together across the region and marks a new milestone for more differentiated and integrated solutions for our clients. We firmly believe the future of professional services is in asset-based and managed services which allows us to drive real results at speed and scale”, said Vishy Narayanan, the chief digital and information officer of PwC Asia Pacific.

Sundara Raj, chief digital officer for the PwC Malaysia-Vietnam firm said, “The adoption of digital technologies is increasingly vital for businesses of all sizes. While we acknowledge the commendable efforts made by Malaysian businesses in embarking on digital transformation, there is still significant untapped potential to fully leverage the advantages of digital enablement.”

PwC also aims to promote collaboration by working alongside clients to trial, test and tailor these digital assets in their actual business environment, allowing a continuous feedback loop. This includes broadening the breadth and scope of the alliance ecosystem. To harness this, PwC has built strong relationships with specialist software and platform businesses to co-create a comprehensive set of services and products designed around delivering value to organisations.

PwC established itself in Malaysia when it unveiled plans to open a new acceleration centre in Kuala Lumpur in 2022 to provide PwC clients with the best talent from all parts of the world via its global network.

According to PwC, the centre is envisioned to be a truly cross-functional operation with capabilities across consulting, assurance, tax and business service. In the initial stages of operations, the centre will primarily support the needs of PwC clients in the US through assurance services. The centre is set to expand its competencies across the entire breadth of the firm's portfolio and grow to over 1,000 professionals, creating job opportunities for digital and tech-savvy talent in Malaysia over the next few years.
